Five ways Westworks delivers stability for the construction sector

A house on a weighing scale

This week Construction Products Association1 predicted continued growth for the construction sector this year and next year, but they also shared that economic risks and uncertainties are likely to rise.

As a key part of the value chain in public sector construction, it’s vital that procurement services bring transparency and stability for both public bodies and suppliers where we can.

Here’s how Westworks is helping to create stability through our services:

  1. Early engagement
We aim to give suppliers notice of upcoming tenders as soon as possible so they can plan ahead.
  2. Upfront with requirements
We encourage members to give as much information as possible as soon as possible, meaning suppliers can determine their suitability for bidding for a contract.
  3. Clear communication
We keep all parties updated throughout the tender process and are prompt with contract award communications. This ensures suppliers are aware of progress and timelines throughout and know whether they’ve been successful in their bid as soon as possible.
  4. Highlight risk
We advocate for early identification of risk and openness with suppliers on the risks associated with schemes. We also encourage a balance of risk weighting between the supplier and the contracting authority.
  5. Timely payment
We encourage our members to make timely payments to suppliers to support healthy cashflow.
